Global Infoanalytics polls ‘fufu-based analysis’ – Sammy Awuku

Sammi Awuku, the Parliamentary Candidate for Akropong Constituency, has dismissed the recent polls conducted by Global Infoanalytics for the 2024 elections, calling them “fufu-based.”

His remarks follow the research firm’s projection that John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, will win the upcoming presidential race.

The survey suggests Mahama will secure 52.2% of the vote, surpassing New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is forecasted to receive 41.4%. Other candidates, including Alan Kyerematen and Nana Kwame Bediako, are projected to get 2.5% and 3.0%, respectively.

Mr. Awuku criticised Mussa K. Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global Infoanalytics, for the firm’s earlier inaccurate predictions ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with GHOne TV, Mr. Awuku claimed that the polls failed to predict the actual outcomes, including Bawumia’s percentage and the positions of other candidates.

He stated, “….Not the fufu-based analysis polls, that’s Mussa Dankwah’s polls. It’s fufu-based analysis. This guy ahead of presidential primaries of the NPP and I have the report. He said Bawumia was going to get 33%, he said Kennedy was going to be second, Alan was going to be first in the first round. In the second round, he said Ken was going to win the presidential primaries but none of his predictions came through.”
