The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for members of a group identifying as the “NDC Youth of Obuasi” after they were seen in a viral video making violent threats ahead of the 2024 Polls.
The video, which has gained significant attention, shows the group making disturbing threats to disrupt the upcoming elections, sparking concern among the public and authorities.
In response, the police in a statement dated on November 15, condemned the group’s actions and categorising them as a breach of public peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The statement confirmed that a coordinated operation is now underway to track down and apprehend the individuals involved.
The police emphasised that any conduct threatening public safety or undermining the electoral process would not be tolerated.
