Western Region: Akufo-Addo unveils statue of himself at Effia-Nkwanta Hospital

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has unveiled a statue of himself at the entrance of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, marking a significant moment during his one-day “thank you” tour of the Western Region on Wednesday, November 6.

The statue, which stands as a symbol of his leadership, was revealed in front of a crowd of residents as part of his ongoing tour to engage with Ghanaians and highlight his administration’s achievements.

In his address, President Akufo-Addo took the opportunity to reflect on the progress made during his tenure, stating that his government has fulfilled about 80 percent of the promises made to Ghanaians.

He specifically pointed to the accomplishments outlined in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) manifesto, stressing that the administration has made substantial strides in delivering on its commitments.

While in the Western North Region on Tuesday, November 5, Akufo-Addo also highlighted his government’s broader successes, including the transformative impact of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which has been a cornerstone of his leadership.

According to him, the policy, since its introduction in 2017, the policy has benefited over 5.7 million students, providing free access to education for young Ghanaians who previously could not afford it.

The President reassured the people of Western North that, despite the challenges his government has faced, his commitment to national development remains unwavering.

He reiterated that while not all promises have been fulfilled, the majority have been successfully achieved, with a focus on improving education, infrastructure, and social services.
