Shatta Wale donates GH₵ 20K to support artist’s education

Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has generously supported a young artist in Kumasi during his recent visit to the Garden City.

In a video shared on Facebook by Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, the musician is seen presenting GH₵ 20,000 to a 19-year-old lady named Priscilla, who had gifted him a portrait of himself.

Upon receiving the artwork, Shatta Wale inquired about Priscilla’s educational background, and she shared that she had completed senior high school the previous year.

However, she was unable to pursue further studies due to financial challenges.

Her mother had advised her to wait while she sought funds for her tertiary education.

Touched by her situation, Shatta Wale immediately asked his manager to contact Priscilla’s mother, with the intention of directly handing over the money to her.

During the meeting, Priscilla’s mother expressed heartfelt gratitude to Shatta Wale and his team, sharing that they had been facing financial hardships since her husband’s passing three years ago.

“My husband passed away three years ago, so we have been struggling financially. I told her to wait a little longer while I try to raise the money for her education,” she said, thanking Shatta Wale for his support.

Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, emphasised that the money should be used exclusively for Priscilla’s education.

“Shatta Wale’s only request is that the money is used for her education, not for clothes. It should be spent on whatever she needs to continue her studies,” he said.
