Bill Clinton Discharged from Hospital After Flu Treatment

Former US President Bill Clinton left the hospital after treatment for the flu, a spokesperson said Tuesday. “He and his family are grateful for the exceptional care at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital,” Angel Ureña wrote on X. Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center on Monday evening for tests after developing a fever.

The 78-year-old was previously hospitalized for six days in 2021 in California due to a blood infection. Clinton, who served as the 42nd US president from 1993 to 2001, has also faced heart issues. In 2004, he had quadruple bypass surgery and later had a clogged artery opened in 2014.

Since leaving office, Clinton has been active, founding the Clinton Foundation and partnering with the American Heart Association to form the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. After his second surgery, he adopted a vegan diet, attributing his health improvements to it.

Clinton also supported Vice-President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign this year, traveling the country to boost her bid. Last month, he released his latest book, Citizen: My Life After the White House.
