Ghana Premier league is sinking, unattractive – Ex-Black Stars player

Former Black Stars goalkeeper Daniel Agyei has voiced strong concerns over the current state of the Ghana Premier League, describing it as “sinking” and no longer attractive.

His remarks highlight the pressing issue of player remuneration and their impact on the league’s competitiveness.

In an interview with GHOne TV on the Game, Daniel Agyei lamented the meagre salaries of players in the league, noting that inadequate remuneration has made it difficult for the league to attract and retain talent.

“Ghana Premier League is sinking and is not attractive. The current salaries of players in the league are not good, ” the former Liberty Professionals player said.

Daniel Agyei played a pivotal role in Ghana’s historic Under-20 World Cup triumph in 2009, is however optimistic that with the right leadership and investment, the Ghana Premier League, can reclaim its glory.

Agyei’s candid critique serves as a wake-up call for the Ghana Football Association and other stakeholders to take decisive action to address the league’s challenges.
