Ghana govt launches Performance Tracker, over 13, 000 projects validated so far

On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the Ghanaian government unveiled the Performance Tracker at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra.

The tracker is designed to address long-standing concerns about the accuracy and reliability of project presentations, especially the use of artist’s impressions to represent outcomes.

The Performance Tracker will serve as a dependable tool for demonstrating the progress and impact of infrastructure projects, fostering trust and confidence among the populace.

At the official launch, the Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, stated that the Performance Tracker aims to promote transparency and accountability in the implementation of infrastructure projects throughout the nation.

He reiterated that the tracker will help alleviate long-standing concerns about the accuracy and reliability of project presentations, particularly the use of artist’s impressions to represent outcomes.

Oppong Nkrumah disclosed that the tracker currently encompasses over 13,000 projects across the country.

The MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi emphasized that the Performance Tracker is an enhanced version of the Delivery Tracker, which was introduced in 2020 by Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
