Supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) have reportedly attacked traders in Tamale’s central business district in the Northern region over control of a lorry station.
According to JoyNews’ Eliasu Tanko, the assailants allegedly stormed the lorry station and clashed with opponents, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.
The incident brought business activities in the area to a standstill, as traders fled for safety.
JoyNews reports that while there were no fatalities, one person sustained severe injuries.
Eliasu Tanko also noted that no arrests had been made, and the police had not yet arrived at the scene.
However, calm has since been restored to the area.
