Lamine Yamal wins 2024 Golden Boy award

Barcelona and Spain’s Lamine Yamal has won the 2024 Golden Boy award.

Founded by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the award is given to the best European men’s player under the age of 21. This voting right is reserved for journalists using a points system.

Yamal who is currently 17, established himself as a first-team regular for Barcelona and has also helped Spain to win Euro 2024.

The winger has scored a goal and assisted four more as he was named young player of the tournament.

Yamal recently won the Kopa Trophy October, an equivalent prize handed out during the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony.

Yamal has tallied six goals and eight assists in 16 matches across all competitions this season.

Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid and England midfielder, claimed the Golden Boy award in 2023.
