Police offer GH₵20K bounty on group over election violence threats

The Ghana Police Service has announced a GH₵20,000 reward for any credible information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in making violent threats in Obuasi ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The suspects, identified as Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, and Musa Yakubu, also known as “Agya Musah,” have been on the run since November 15, 2024.

The group, along with their accomplices, appeared in a viral video in which they made disturbing threats to disrupt the upcoming elections, raising alarm among the public.

In a statement released on November 15, the police condemned the group’s actions, classifying them as a breach of public peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The suspects have since been declared wanted, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
