‘Put your egos aside and accept minority status ‘- Yusif Sulemana slams NPP MPs

Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana, has criticised New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament over deliberate absence during a parliamentary session they had initially called for.

He emphasised that the NPP MPs must acknowledge their current position in Parliament and act in the best interest of the country, urging them to “put their ego aside”.

Sulemana’s comments come after NPP MPs failed to attend the session on Thursday, November 7, resulting in the indefinite adjournment of Parliament due to a lack of quorum.

The session had been convened to address urgent national issues but was derailed by the absence of NPP members.

The Bole Bamboi MP expressed concern about the financial costs of the NPP’s actions, noting that the absence of MPs had led to wasted public resources.

“We should be discussing how their actions are affecting the financial laws of the state. You call us to come, but then fail to show up, wasting taxpayer money. If they do show up, they must put their egos aside and accept that, as we speak, they are in the minority. They should sit on the Minority side,” he said.
