Sammy Gyamfi denies traveling in police-escorted convoy

Sammy Gyamfi, National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has dismissed allegations that he was seen travelling in a large convoy accompanied by police dispatch riders in Accra over the weekend.

In a statement released on Monday, January 13, 2025, Gyamfi described the claims, made by former Presidential Staffer Justice Abeeku, as “false and maliciously contrived.”

Justice Abeeku, in a social media post, alleged that he encountered Gyamfi travelling in the convoy while driving in Accra.

However, Gyamfi categorically denied the accusation, stating, “I was nowhere near the said convoy, nor have I ever sanctioned or used any such convoy. As an ordinary citizen of Ghana, I do not go about my business in such convoys.”

He called on the public to disregard the claims, describing them as an intentional attempt to tarnish his reputation and create disaffection.

He urged the public to disregard the claims, labelling them an attempt to tarnish his reputation and create public disaffection.

Sammy Gyamfi reaffirmed his commitment to upholding transparency and integrity while urging Ghanaians to be wary of misinformation and verify facts before accepting or sharing them.
